The first post for a year long look at refugee children in Head Start for the first time. On the first day of school I only had permission to photograph Subriya, 3, who is originally from Somalia. Next week will be the second shoot, hopefully with photo releases for several other students.

I would have been lucky to get ONE decent photo from a "first day of school" assignment...you dang near got a whole picture story out of it...what a stud! Or is that studess?
Subriya crying on the bus is a heartbreaking gem. Very nice collection of images.
